I’ve been posting a lot of educational and informative posts that I decide today to take a different approach. I want to share the story of B&C storage with you…
I was introduced to the storage industry via the storage software business back in the 90s by one of my closest friends.
In 1999 we decided to open two storage facilities known as West Side Storage in Camillus and Marcellus. I wanted to solely focus on the storage industry, so I decided to leave the software company and start the company B&C Self Storage.
In 2006 I wanted to pursue a larger scale operation and soon after the company began expanding rapidly….To find out how many storage facilities I expanded to click here

If you are considering using a storage facility for some of your items you might want to ask a few of these questions first before choosing the best location.
How often will you be accessing your items?
-If you say “frequently” I would then consider a location only within a short drive from your home or office. If you only need access to your items a couple times a year take your time and shop around. Find the facility you are most comfortable leaving your items with.
How much space will you need?
-Consider the amount of items you will be storing and the space you will need to have to be able to access those items. You will need room to move around in addition to the items you are storing.
How much security do you need or want?
-If having a secure facility is important to you then I would recommend doing your research and calling ahead to learn more about the facility. You can learn a lot about a company in their FAQ page (security is normally a hot topic in the storage industry).
How much of a commitment must you make when obtaining a storage locker?
-Do you mind being in a contract for three or six months? How long do you plan on storing your items? There are storage company that have different policies on how long you must commit to stay in that facility so be conscious of that item.

Is your office full of clutter and becoming too much to handle? Before the weather changes it would be a great time to transfer some of those items to a storage unit. Here are a few tips on what to do before storing those nonessential office items.
Make an inventory list
Be sure that you have a cataloged list of everything you decided to put into storage. This will be an advantageous time saver when looking for a certain item. Also by compiling a list before storage then you will understand how large or small of a storage unit you will need.
Climate Controlled Storage
Depending upon what you plan on storing it might be a good idea to consider climate controlled storage. If you plan on storing anything from electronic equipment (especially computers) or to any item that could be damaged by fluctuating temperatures then climate controlled storage is the way to go.
Remember to keep those items you will need on a more frequent basis keep close to the entrance of the unit!
Happy Storage!
